This young buck was used heavily by us and regretfully we had to let him move on to a new home. He really did well in putting good ears and Nubian breed type into our first generation of Minis and his pure Nubian kids looked very nice also. One of his littermate sisters remains in our herd.

This young buck has a lot of things going for him but standing for photos was not one of them. He has really good tight shoulders and sharp withers. Good length of body and spring of rib. I would really like to see a leveler top line and flatness of rump. His escutcheon is good and he has a great scrotum set with good attachment and teat placement. We are very pleased with the kids he put on the ground this year and are retaining one of the doelings and two buckling all of which are spotted. Unfortunately for us, we had to thin down on our heavy buck numbers and had to sell him but we are thankful that he went to a friend of ours so we will be able to keep track of him and maybe get another kid in the future.
UPDATE: May 08 We used one of his bucklings ( Koloth ) on a Nigie doe and her Mini-Nubian daughter and were very pleased with the ear set and structure of the kids. One of the Mini doelings is spotted.

Kulana was the first Nubian we brought home after getting back into the goats. Overall we are pleased with her. She has great length and depth of body and sharp shoulders. I would like to see better rear udder attachment and smaller teats. A leveler top line would also be nice. Her temperament is all we could ask for. She is not the least bit demanding and is a joy to work with. It is interesting to know that EVERY time Kulana has kidded it has been twins, 1 buck and 1 doe. Update Oct 07 She had to go and prove me wrong this year, she through in an extra buck and gave us triplets.
UPDATE 11/28/07 Due to the fact we have more goats then we need :-) when Steve and Barb came by and fell in love with her we decided it would be a great chance for Kulana to go to a new home where she could get a lot more of that one on one attention that she loves. We still have her daughter Kochia and another daughter of hers, Kulena, lives just up the road.

This is a nice doe from Oregon and has some heavy milk production lines. Sidh (pronounced SHEE , Celtic for Fairy) is an easy going doe that does not enjoy being around bossy herd queens. She tested NEG for CAE in March 08 after kidding. I love the breed character that this doe has but I would like to see a leveler rump and a little bit better udder placement. She freshened on March 8th with a single spotted doeling by Draco.
Sidh has moved to a new home where she does not have any other doe to boss her around and her milk production has went back up.

Kochia was born just 6 days after we brought Kulana home. Her littermate brother had some wild spots and was a nice looking buck that went as a companion wether. Her kidding history is a little heavy on the bucks, 2 sets of triplets 2 bucks 1 doe each time and then the last kidding was 2 bucks. We are keeping our fingers crossed that next time will be better. Over all this is a nice doe. She could use a leveler top line, same as her dam, and more breed character. We are very pleased with her udder texture, it is silky soft, she has a large orifice and produced well over a gallon a day for several months. Kochia has an excellent set of shoulders, good bone structure and lots of length and depth of body.
